Self-alliance
Your relationship with yourself, measured by what you do.
“We are what we do.”
The book by Master Chim
Tribalnomics gives you the laws of alliance: who earns your loyalty, how to lead the people around you, and what to do about the traitor inside your own walls.

Does this sound like you?

You judge loyalty by what people say, then get burned by what they do.
You take it personally every time someone walks out.
You’re the only strong one in your circle, and it’s wearing you down.
You can’t tell whether the problem guy in your crew is a fool or an enemy.
You hand out loyalty like it’s owed, then wonder why it never comes back.
I tell my students this:
“If someone disappoints you, it is because you inaccurately set your expectations.”
Tribalnomics shows you how to set them right.
“Master Chim’s approach to everything seems rooted in the idea that we are usually defeated by our own fears. There is no room for self-pity; only self-reflection. His ability to extract the most out people is legendary.”

The core of the book
Trivium is Latin for “where three roads meet.” The “Alliance Trivium” is the three alliances every man has, whether he manages them or not.
Your relationship with yourself, measured by what you do.
“We are what we do.”
The people who carry your work and your kids past your own lifetime.
“We have itches only the tribe can scratch.”
The “friend in your head”: a fixed standard you steer by when your mood can’t be trusted.
What you get
The RPS Formula (Ritual, Procreation, Survival) strips identity down to your rituals, so you stop describing yourself in feelings.
The Tribal Wall shows the overlap you share with your people and the offset you don’t, so you stop forcing them to be you.
Honor is the in-tribe currency of virtue. Learn what earns standing and what costs it.
Four leader types, three ways into the role, and what each one does to the men under him.
The fool and the enemy both damage the mission. Learn to tell them apart and deal with each.
“When it’s time for them to go, it’s time for them to go.”
“Loyalty is an investment, not a debt.”
Track what people do and invest accordingly.
Allies, prospects, strangers, and enemies each get handled differently. Most of them aren’t enemies.

Reader reviews
“This is one of the most concise, effective, practical, and useful books on not just leadership, but how we can remain functional and productive in our lives. No fluff, no ramblings, just pure math.”
“I grew up thinking that the ideal man was strong, skilled, independent, and self-reliant. Alone. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve realized that this is a mistake. You can’t be the only strong and reliable person in your circle indefinitely.”
“I have used the theories outlined in this book to make MAJOR decisions involving my business. Tribalnomics allows you to compartmentalize people in your life based on THEIR behaviour and then treat them accordingly.”
“This is a refreshingly blunt read heavy on concepts such as honor, virtue, shame, and loyalty... If the thought that your failures may be your own fault offends you- this is not the book for you.”
“This book clearly lays out the architecture, building and maintenance of tribes. It shows how to better build tribes and how and why members come and go.”
“Use this book to assess where you may have been coasting through life, and need to apply some pressure to improve. If you read Tribalnomics and if you are honest with yourself, you can improve all aspects of your life.”
“Every man (and woman) has a tribe - Tribalnomics provides the framework for ensuring its power. Read this book. And then read it again. This is a guide for life.”
“No nonsense guide to understanding the dynamics of Tribe... Justin Garcia does an excellent job on breaking down what it means to be a Tribe and how the Tribe SHOULD function.”

Who wrote it
When I was sixteen, I was locked in a jail cell in Valhalla, New York. I call it my first trip to Valhalla. Sitting in that cell, I realized I couldn’t trust myself to make the right call in the moment. So I started writing rules for myself when I was at my best, to follow when I was at my worst.
Years later, two of my students asked me what tribe actually is. Four hours later my whiteboard was covered in diagrams. That session became my Loyalty Matrix video series, and that series became this book.
I’ve run a martial arts academy for over 20 years. Hundreds of students came through it, and every rule in this book was tested on real people, mine included.

FAQ

There’s no feel-good in it. The first chapter says it straight: “someone who understands tribe but does nothing to use that understanding to forge the most powerful life he can is a loser.” It’s a book of formulas you’re expected to use.
You’re in a tribe whether you picked it or not: your family, your friends, your crew at work. The book covers every scale, from a single act of courtesy to a lifelong bond with a brother.
No. Every term is defined in the glossary at the back.
Every formula came out of real use. I’ve run a martial arts academy for over 20 years, and the book comes from what worked and what failed with hundreds of students, including the times I got it wrong.
It’s 140 pages and 13 chapters. Several readers say to read it twice.
